Hometown: From Iran.
Involvement in DPQoL: I am a 2nd year PhD student and graduate research assistant at the Disability, Participation, and Quality of Life Research Laboratory, where I focus on research related to fall risk assessment, fall prevention, and management for individuals who use wheelchairs and scooters.
Career Goals: My long-term goal is to secure a faculty position that will allow me to teach, lead students, and conduct research in rehabilitation science. I hope to develop innovative community-based interventions that enhance social engagement and community participation for special populations with mobility disabilities.
Favorite Thing About Champaign/Urbana: Champaign/Urbana is a charming college town with a vibrant academic and cultural atmosphere. It provides large, open campus spaces and a safe, supportive environment for students, making it an ideal place and comfort zone to focus on research and study. Its proximity to major metropolitan attractions like Chicago, St. Louis, and Indianapolis makes it convenient for weekend getaways and cultural exploration. Overall, here is a great place to live as a student.
Outside of School and Work: I enjoy traveling and exploring both natural and human-made attractions. I also love cooking and experimenting with new recipes. Another hobby of mine is watching historical documentaries.
